As well as being an experienced pianist and organist, I am also an accomplished French horn player. My major studies at university were in Performance and I performed Mozart's 3rd horn concerto with the Queen's University Chamber Orchestra during the final year of my degree.
I was a member of the inaugural Ulster Youth Orchestra in 1994, continuing to play with UYO for the next six years. I reached the Principal Horn chair in both UYO and the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland.
I studied as a postgraduate at Trinity College of Music in London for two years, achieving a Postgraduate Advanced Diploma (with distinction) in French horn performance after a 45 minute recital from memory.
For sixteen years I was Principal Horn in the London International Orchestra.
