When the COVID-19 pandemic took hold last year I switched to online lessons as soon as the schools closed on 20th March.
I was delighted to return to face to face lessons on 7th September. I taught behind perspex screens and used two instruments in lessons. A risk assessment was carried out and all precautions necessary were taken.
Following the most recent lockdown in January 2021 I switched back to online lessons. I will be continuing online until the guidance changes and probably until pupils return to school.
I use several different communication methods, such as Zoom, FaceTime, WhatsApp video calls, Skype and Messenger Chat. All of these enable tuition to continue, progress to be made and while they are not ideal they are much better than nothing.
